Located in Deer Lodge, Montana, we had a simple goal; to build boats that could get us into any location we wanted. From chasing elk on the shores of the Missouri River, finding honey holes for mallards, to chasing trout; we don’t want our access limited.
Rocky River Boats was started by Sean Dickson and his wife, Kourtney. Years ago, Sean attended welding school in Montana with a singular goal; to become proficient in aluminum welding to build boats. After miles of TIG and MIG beads, Sean left school and cut his teeth at a variety of different welding jobs over the preceding years becoming a skilled fabricator. The time had come to start putting metal on the water.
It is an undeniable fact of life that a man with a dream goes significantly further with a supportive wife by his side. After buying a home in Deer Lodge, Kourtney worked diligently beside Sean helping him build a shop. Soon enough, the shop was finished and the aluminum was ready to begin welding. More long days and long nights followed as the first boat took shape. From the first welds to the finishing touches, Sean was focused on the craftmanship of the build rather than efficiency. What followed from this narrow minded effort was a boat that not only performed beautifully on the water, but gave those in it a peace of mind knowing that quality was paramount over efficiency.
As we go forward, we intend to continue building with quality to get good boats into the hands of good people. Our intention is to see as many Rocky River Boats on the road and in the water as possible. We hope you enjoy watching us grow, and sincerely thank you for supporting us.
